On June 3, 2007, after attending the MTV Video Awards Hilton checked herself into the Men's Central Jail of the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles at 11:38 pm. From there Hilton was then taken by authorities to the Lynwood Women's Jail in Lynwood, California. Hilton was given the inmate booking number 981878. Sarah Silverman didn't miss the opportunity and grilled her earlier that day on the MTV Awards at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.
